Autographed
guitar set to be auctioned at Burnham-On-Sea concert
An
electric guitar autographed by Status Quo drummer John Coughlan
is to be auctioned off to help a group of young musicians in Burnham-On-Sea.
Music
promoters Burnham Rock, and Alex Miles with his band, are to raffle
the instrument at Burnham's Under a Summer Moon concert next month.
The
instrument, a Dias Gem electric guitar, will also be signed by
members of the Geno Washington's Ram Jam band, members of The
Move, including Neil Lockwood of the Graham Parsons Project, and
Jesse Wood's band Hogg, who are playing at this years Under
a Summer Moon.
Burnham
Rock promoter Gordon Clayton said: "Musicians playing at
Under A Summer Moon will be signing the guitar, and if Jesse Wood's
father Ronnie turns up, he'll be signing it as well."
He
added: "We intend to use the money to help young bands play
with professional sound equipment during the summer holidays.
Various venues are being explored and we will be releasing more
information later."
The
money raised will go towards the Evolution project, a scheme to
encourage more under 17 year olds to create their own music.
Under
a Summer Moon will be held this year on July 26th at the BASC
ground in Burnham, as we recently reported here.
Our
photo shows Alex Miles, young lead guitarist of Evolution, with
the guitar.
