Decision on Burnham-On-Sea
pool's future delayed until April 2nd
A
decision about the future of Burnham-On-Sea's closure-threatened
swimming pool will not be made until April, it was announced on
Tuesday afternoon (March 25th).
Sedgemoor
District Council told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the expected report
to Sedgemoor District Council's Executive committee on March 26th
about the tendering process for the lease of Burnham pool would
be deferred until April 2nd, because the evaluation process is
taking a little longer than had been anticipated.
Councillor
Duncan McGinty, leader of Sedgemoor District Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"Things are moving ahead positively and I look forward to
sharing the report with the public on 2nd April.''
It
comes just a week after the council confirmed that more than one
bid had been submitted to take on the pool's lease by the deadline
of Monday March 17th.
It
was first reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com three
weeks ago that five bidders were in the frame to take over
the Berrow Road pool.
