Burnham-On-Sea Regatta's tender race is a sail-away success!

Burnham-On-Sea's
annual tender race saw a dozen colourfully dressed members of
the town's sailing club take to the waters of Bridgwater Bay on
Sunday evening (August 3rd).
Showers
of rain failed to dampen the sprits of the participants, pictured,
who rowed from the beach besides Burnham jetty to the Sailing
Club pontoons in the River Brue.
Young
Edward Clist, who came second last
year, did one better by winning this year's race, much to
the delight of event organiser and father John Clist.
The
speed of the fast-incoming tide during the event took several
of the rowers by surprise and one boat was towed into the River
Brue estuary by BARB's safety boat crew after getting swept upstream.
The tender race is one of several events being held during this
week's Burnham's regatta - click here
