Burnham-On-Sea
restaurant owner hangs up the apron after 45 years
The
owner of a Burnham-On-Sea restaurant hung up his apron for the
final time on Sunday afternoon (August 31st) after 45 years in
the restaurant trade.
Costas
Partakis, 61, has run Regency Joes on the town's High Street for
the last six years but has decided to retire and close the business
to spend more time with his family.
"It's
been a very emotional day," Costas told Burnham-On-Sea.com
just moments after closing his shop at 4.30pm on Sunday.
"After
so long in the trade I've made many friends who I will miss."
"But
while I'm closing the restaurant in order to take things more
easy, I certainly won't be leaving Burnham altogether and will
still be round and about."
The
premises has been bought by Chandni, an Indian restuarant which
is currently located next door, and which is set to expand into
the building this autumn.
