Second burglary at Burnham-On-Sea shop
A
town centre shop in Burnham-On-Sea which was hit by a hit and
run robbery earlier this month has been struck by a second robbery.
The
stunned shop owner, who has asked not to be identified, told Burnham-On-Sea.com
how a man claiming to be a previous customer walked into the shop
on Friday (July 18th), distracted him while he took goods worth
a very high value, and then left the shop.
Police
managed to catch up with the suspect in Bristol, arrested him
and the goods were seized.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
understands the suspect took a taxi to Weston where he travelled
by train to Bristol Temple Meads railway station. Police arrested
the man at the station and retrieved the goods.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
is not naming the Burnham shop manager or the shop due to his
wish to remain anonymous.
Earlier
this
month, we were were first to report how a man smashed the
front window of the same shop before fleeing with a large amount
of goods. Police rushed to the scene, in the centre of Burnham,
but failed to capture the man.
The
shop owner was left shaken - but not injured - in Friday's latest
incident.
