Ram
raiders carried out a night-time attack on a shop in the centre
of Burnham-On-Sea during the early hours of Thursday morning (October
23rd).
Perfume
and other items were stolen from Superdrug in the High Street
when its front window was smashed at 1.20am.
The
shop's alarms sounded, waking up nearby residents and police
were quickly on the scene a few minutes later.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
understands that a stolen car was used in the attack and it was
later found near Bristol.
Investigations
were underway into the incident on Thursday, with police examining
CCTV footage and speaking to local residents.
Police
spokesman Dan Mountain told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We were
called to a burglary at 1.40am after the front windows of the
shop were smashed. A quantity of perfume was stolen."
