Volunteers
wanted to marshal Tour of Britain cycle race in Burnham
Organisers
from Somerset County Council's Tour of Britain team are encouraging
residents from Burnham-On-Sea to be part of the biggest cycling
race in the UK and help make sure the South West stage, which
will end in the town on September 9th, is a success.
Volunteers are needed to help marshal the race route, which will
pass through the Quantocks, along the A358 and then head through
Highbridge before the finish in Burnham - as we reported first
in February.
If you think you could spare a couple of hours of your time when
the race comes to the South West on Tuesday 9th September, organisers
are keen for volunteers to sign up via its website here.
"Volunteers are crucial to making the event a success; they
make a real difference to the riders and other spectators on the
day by helping the race to run smoothly and safely," said
spokeswoman Claire Cullen.
"One
lucky volunteer will also win the chance to ride in a team car
during the final stage of next year's race when the Tour of Britain
finishes in London."
