Burst
water main causes delays for motorway users near Burnham

Water
gushed hundreds of feet into the air when a water main burst in
a field besides the M5 motorway, causing delays for motorists
near Burnham-On-Sea this week.
The
Highways Agency shut the inside lane of the motorway after the
incident occurred during the rush-hour evening commuting period
on
Thursday evening (October 23rd).
A
50mph speed restriction was put in place on the southbound carriageway
and traffic was also slow going northbound as motorists slowed
down to take a look near junction 24, with delays back to the
Highbridge's junction 23.
A
passenger in a car travelling northbound captured these photographs
on a mobile phone for Burnham-On-Sea.com. "It was quite a
spectacular sight," he said.
