Man
held after attempted robbery at Highbridge supermarket
A
22 year-old man has this week been charged with attempted robbery
after an incident outside a Highbridge supermarket.
Police
were called to the Asda store in Caxton Road at 9pm on Saturday
(March 7th) after a 28-year-old woman was approached while withdrawing
money from the cash machines, pictured here.
Police
spokesman Steve Game told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The female
victim was withdrawing cash from a machine when she was approached
by a male."
A
scuffle is then understood to have occurred, when the 22-year-old
man attempted to steal a quantity of cash before making off.
Police
from Burnham-On-Sea were quickly called to the scene and a man
was held in connection with the incident.
Police
spokesman Steve Game added: "Police arrested the man, who
is from Highbridge, and later charged him with attempted robbery."
