June 1, 2009 Three
cars get stuck during busy holiday week for beach wardens
Beach
wardens in Brean have been kept busy over the Half Term holiday
period, with THREE vehicles getting stuck in soft sand and mud.
Over the past week, fast flowing tides have caught
out several mototists - including this one here.
Brean
beach warden Dave Furber told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Fortunately,
the car's occupants managed to walk away safely, but the vehicle
was completely covered by the sea several times before it was
taken away by the local council."
Beach
wardens have also seen a BMW and a Jeep get into difficulty in
recent days, although neither was completely engulfed by the sea
as this one here.
It
follows a similar incident on Burnham-On-Sea beach last
Sunday when a van became trapped in soft sand and could not
be rescued before the incoming tide.
