plants in Highbridge and Lympsham

Burnham-On-Sea
police seized thousands of pounds worth of cannabis plants and
made several arrests during drugs raids in our area on Thursday
(May 14th).
The
plants pictured above were seized from a home in Cuthbert Street
in Highbridge during the police's ongoing 'Operation Relentless'
campaign.
Over
30 cannabis plants were seized from the two addresses in Highbridge
and Lympsham.
In
Highbridge, just after 9.30am, a 49 year-old man was arrested
on suspicion of unlawful production of cannabis.
Eight
cannabis plants and 90 grams of cannabis bush with a total street
value of £800 were found.
Police
also took away equipment from the address that police believe
was being used to cultivate the plants.
Another
warrant was executed simultaneously in Lympsham, where a 38 year
old man was arrested and 23 cannabis plants were recovered, along
with Class C tablets and Cannabis bush.
Sergeant
Ian Kennett said "These raids were part of the wider Operation
Relentless, which today focussed on tackling local PACT priorities
which have been set by the public. We will continue to target
criminals and drug dealers and welcome any information from the
community."
"Nobody
wants drug dealers to affect their everyday life and we will consider
closing premises that are used for drug dealing if a link to antisocial
behaviour can be shown. We are already working with housing providers
who will take action to evict tenants who are involved in the
misuse of drugs and dealers can also expect to receive exposure
in the media."
