Burnham-On-Sea ambulance
crews called to fatal motorway crash
Three
ambulance crews from Burnham-On-Sea were called to a fatal accident
on the M5 motorway on Thursday evening (January 22nd).
The
M5 southbound was closed following the collision between
junctions 24 and 25 at about 6.40pm.
Police
said one vehicle, a people carrier, ended up in a roadside ditch
and a child passenger who is believed to be under the age of five
tragically died.
Seven
other people who were travelling in the vehicle were freed by
the fire service and the Burnham ambulance crews helped to take
the casualties to Musgrove Park Hospital.
Police
appealed for anyone who saw the accident to contact the road policing
unit's collision investigation unit on 0845 456 7000.
