Fire-hit
Brean couple are 'thrilled to bits' with honeymoon tickets

A
Brean couple who lost their home in a devastating fire have this
week been handed free honeymoon tickets following a community
fundraising campaign.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
broke the news last November
that a devastating fire had swept through the wooden chalet owned
by Brean beach warden Ron Sharrard and his partner Angela Davies.
Fire
crews from across the county tackled the blaze, but they could
not save the property or the couple's two Yorkshire Terriers inside.
Despite the traumatic events the couple went on to marry in Brean's
St Bridget's Church in December
in front of family, friends and supporters.
Following
a community fundraising campaign, on Tuesday (January 20th) they
were handed their honeymoon tickets, worth £560, for a fortnight's
holiday in Fuerteventura at the First Choice shop on Burnham High
Street.
Danny
Pearce, a friend of the couple and landlord of The Railway pub
which recently held a fundraising concert, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"Thanks go to everyone who's supported Ron and Angela through
these difficult times."
"They
are both thrilled to bits about the honeymoon tickets and will
be leaving next week. Hopefully, we've brought them a little happiness."
"Particular
thanks go to all those businesses that provided raffle items for
our recent fundraising event, including Woodberry Haines and Space
Storage. I would also like to thank Custom Cars taxi service for
agreeing to take Ron and Angela to the airport and collect them
free of charge."
