Hunt and hounds visit Burnham-On-Sea
beach during cold snap

These
were the unusual scenes next to Burnham-On-Sea's lighthouse on
Saturday morning
(January 10th) when a local hunting group exercised its hounds
on the beach.
Over
40 dogs from the Mendip Hunt ran along the sands, instead of their
normal hunting area, due to the icy weather.
Hunt
Master Richard Standing explained to Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The
ground was frozen so hard that the hounds would have cut their
feet, so we took them down to Brean and ran them along the beach
up to Burnham. It attracted a lot of interest from walkers."
