Young scientists from Highbridge go on voyage of discovery

Students from King Alfred School in Highbridge have been on a journey of scientific discovery to the Science Museum in London.

Thirty pupils from the 'After School Science and Engineering Club' visited the museum to see a range of exhibitions and take part in interactive displays.

One of the highlights was witnessing the effect of very low temperature liquid nitrogen on the properties of common items – such as a banana made tough enough to hammer a large nail into a block of wood.
