Over
170 pupils from Highbridge's King Alfred School attended an end-of-term
prom near Burnham-On-Sea on Friday evening (May 22nd).
Stretch
limousines were out in force as the Year 11 students travelled
in style to Rookery Manor, where the formal Prom Night dance was
held for 173 youngsters.
Nigel
Storey, the Assistant Head of the school's Year 11s, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"Excitement has been building for this night for several
weeks."
"It's
an important milestone for the pupils as they come to the end
of eleven years of schooling."
Scores
of limos were seen around the streets of Burnham, ferrying the
youngsters to their special evening - and there were several unusual
vehicles in use too, including Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine, pictured
on the right!
One
youngster even came onboard the Light of Elizabeth hovercraft,
in return for a generous donation to rescue charity BARB.
