Kitten found dumped in Asda bag by roadside put down by vets

-

A kitten that was found dumped in a plastic bag next to a road in East Huntspill, near Burnham-On-Sea, has been put down.

The animal was taken to a vet surgery by wildlife rescue charity Secret World after being found in a poor condition in New Road last Saturday, as reported here by Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Staff at the surgery in Bridgwater have this week been treating the kitten, but said on Tuesday that the severity of its injuries were so severe it had been put down.

Pauline Kidner from Secret World told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The kitten had several broken bones and was infected. Sadly, it was in a very poor state and had to be put down.”

“It is terrible that there are people who would leave animals to get into a condition like this and then simply dump them.”

The kitten was one of five found at 8am last Saturday (September 12th). Several of the kittens escaped from the plastic bag, but three have since been found and are being looked after by a nearby resident, while one other has not been found.
