This was one of five kittens found dumped by a roadside in East Huntspill on Saturday (September 12th).
A shocked resident contacted local animal rescue charity Secret World after finding a plastic Asda shopping bag containing the animals next to New Road at 8am.
Pauline Kidner from Secret World, who is pictured taking away one of the animals, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is so sad when we find animals dumped like this. It’s almost unbelievable that people could do this.”
Unfortunately, four of the kittens escaped from the bag and nearby land owners have therefore been advised to keep a look out for them.
Mrs Kidner added that the rescued kitten would be checked over for symptoms of flu and other illness before being re-homed.
