Burnham-On-Sea
police to hold free security marking session
Cyclists
can have their bikes security marked and pick up safety tips when
Highbridge police hold a special bike marking event later this
week.
A police surgery will be held on Wednesday (December 16th) from
2.30pm - 4pm at the Police Pod in the Asda car park.
PCSOs
Claire Chambers and Gill Bawler will be handing out crime reduction
advice, marking property and discussing crime concerns.
Due to bike thefts still being an issue in the Highbridge area,
police are also inviting cyclists to bring along their bikes to
be security marked.
PCSO Chambers told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "There are two ways
we can mark them. The first being a free UV marking, which adds
the owners postcode in a number of locations using an invisible
marker; the second is using a permanent marking system and ownership
database. Police are offering the service at a discounted rate
of £4 per pedal cycle (normally retailed at £10.95)."
