Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor Derick Cooper, pictured above, was among the 200 dignitaries, former service personnel and representatives from local groups who gathered at Burnham-On-Sea’s war memorial on Sunday morning (November 8th) to mark Remembrance Day.
The Burnham and District branch of The Royal British Legion organised the Remembrance parade and service, which included the laying of 20 wreaths at the War Memorial besides the town’s hospital in Love Lane.
Two minutes’ silence was held at exactly 11am followed by the playing of the Last Post by buglar Phil Farr-Cox. There was not a service afterwards this year due to the renovation work taking place in St Andrew’s Church.
