Police warning after series of thefts from garden sheds in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Residents in Burnham-On-Sea have this week been urged to secure sheds and outbuildings after a spate of break-ins.

Six incidents have occurred over the last fortnight, according to Burnham-On-Sea police chief Roger Tolley, with high value tools and other equipment being taken.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve seen an increase in thefts from garden sheds and outbuildings during the last couple of weeks.”

“Bikes, tools and garden equipment have been taken, so we would ask that people are extra vigilant and ensure that property is locked and secured.”

He added that the door hinges of a shed in Palmer’s Close had been removed by thieves to steal a pedal cycle and in a separate incident tools and a lawnmower were removed from a shed in Truro Close.

Meanwhile, police are also examining a possible link between two house break-ins in Brean and Berrow Road in Burnham over the last ten days. High value items, such as jewellery, were stolen in each raid.
