A38 re-opened after three car accident near Burnham-On-Sea

The A38 was partially blocked on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea this morning (Wednesday) following a three-car accident.

Fire crews used cutting equipment to remove the roof of one vehicle to gain access to a casualty, who was taken to hospital after the collision at 8.20am outside The Oak Tree Arena in Highbridge.

Ambulance spokeswoman Meladie Justice told that one person had been taken to Weston General Hospital with "injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening."

And police spokesman Wayne Baker added: "Police were called at 8.20am to a road traffic collision involving three vehicles. The road was partially blocked while emergency services were at the scene."
