Work ‘progressing well’ on new £3m swimming pool complex in Brean

-

Work to construct Brean Leisure Park’s new £3million swimming pool is progressing well with the building’s concrete foundations being laid this week.

The first pour of concrete was made this week in preparation for the start of building work on the new 25 metre swimming pool – which was first featured by Burnham-On-Sea.com in March.

The sub floor and the plant room were the first to be concreted, with the remainder of the floor slabs planned for completion over the next fortnight.

The new £3million upgrade to the existing pool complex, which will be open to the public and holiday guests, is scheduled to open for Easter 2011.

Richard House, Managing Director of Brean Leisure Park, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are happy with the progress already made on the new pool. The current indoor and outdoor pool complex will remain open this year.”

The new pool complex will feature a new 25 metre, 6 lane indoor pool, plus children’s splash and play area and an upgrade to the existing pools and flumes.
