Fresh plea for helpers made by Burnham carnival organisers

-

Organisers of Burnham-On-Sea’s Carnival have appealed for more helpers to come forward for next month’s event.

Marshalls, collectors and general helpers are required for the big day, which this year takes place on Monday November 8th.

Carnival Event co-ordinator Phil New told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are in great need of volunteers for marshalling and collecting. Without people coming forward, we will be struggling.”

“There are lots of things that need doing from the Saturday, right up to the night and afterwards for counting the collections. Any help is gratefully appreciated.”

“Any help from anyone over 18 would be appreciated. It is not all physical work either, and ranges from serving teas to putting out road cones and barriers.”

Anyone who volunteers on behalf of a charity, club or team can earn a donation for their group. Anyone wishing to help can contact Phil New on 01278 780219 or Jan Paul, secretary, on 01278 784607.
