Wildlife charity’s shock at dumping of dead fox on its doorstep

-

Wildlife carers at Secret World Wildlife Rescue near Burnham-On-Sea were shocked to find the body of this dead fox had been dumped on their doorstep on Wednesday night (January 6th).

Its tail had been cut off, a hunting tradition, and the animal appeared to have been stamped on, according to charity founder Pauline Kidner.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We abhor these people who think that we will be stopped in our fight against cruelty in the countryside by doing such a sick act.”

“The member of staff who found the animal was very upset and the fact that someone had killed such a beautiful animal in prime condition just to make a point shows just how sick these people are.”

“The animal also looked as if someone had stamped on it.”

“In the past few weeks, Secret World has been involved in a snaring incident, a badger dig where a badger was killed and a further report of digging – all locally.”

“We ask people to contact us or the police if they have any information about people involved in these incidents or indeed any other wildlife crimes.”

“Until wildlife crime is reported and recorded, we will never be able to stop these inhumane people who regard animal cruelty as sport.”
