£700 raised for Burnham-On-Sea hospital at town concert
evening of big band tunes by Highbridge's King Alfred Concert
Band raised more than £700 for the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea
Hospital on Saturday night (October 23rd).
than 100 people attended the fundraiser, including Mayor and Mayoress
Michael and Maria Clark, at King Alfred School's Hall.
were treated to a new musical programme that included solos by
talented young musicians in addition to traditional band tunes.
evening was a successful one for the Friends, with the tombola
alone raising over £400, and the overall profit
expected to be in excess of £700, all of which will benefit
the patients at Burnham Hospital.
Deahl, Chairman of the Friends group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"It was a magnificant evening, enjoyed by all. The large
number of people who came and their generosity in supporting the
tombola has meant that we have increased our funds significantly."

Mayor was joined by several town councillors at the event - with
the Friends of Burnham Hospital being one of the Mayor's two chosen
charities of the year.
