Burnham-On-Sea arts group’s annual exhibition opens at town gallery

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Lighthouse Arts Group is holding its annual exhibition of colourful paintings throughout the month of June.

The Sea Breeze Gallery in Victoria Street is hosting the free entry exhibition, which runs daily until Wednesday, 30th June.

“Early visitors have enjoyed the immense skill and versatility of these artists, some of whom teach. The first area contains the work of Peter Howe with his textured, detailed and impressionistic oil paintings, whilst Malcolm Dormer’s acrylics, all puns of words related to sheep, are providing much amusement,” the gallery’s Rhonda Mills told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

A second area of the exhibition provides a more peaceful look at life and our surroundings.

“Mary Stradling uses textiles, water colours and acrylics in her diverse pictures. Margaret Mickelwright’s ink on paper paintings are as evocative as ever and Linda Gee shows a fantastic use of colour in her textile wall hangings.”

“Clive Hammond-Lovatt shows photographs of his sculptures, whilst his wife Sue has exhibited both brightly coloured and black and white acrylic paintings. Judith Champion’s work includes acrylics, ink on paper and shows another completely new style in her atmospheric tree pictures in watercolours.”

“Anna Nicholaides’ new range of designer bags and other items on display have already started to sell. This is a varied and interesting exhibition of very high quality, so don’t miss out!”

Sea Breeze (telephone 01278 783276) is located opposite the Ritz Cinema in Victoria Street. Opening hours are 10.00 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, except Wednesday (early closing at 2.00 p.m.), with Saturday 10.00 until 5.00 p.m.
