Missing man could be in Burnham-On-Sea area, say police

-

Police are asking the public to help them locate a missing Worcester man who may be in the Burnham-On-Sea area.

Philip Champken, 59, was last seen by a relative in the city on September 19th.

The social worker, pictured, is believed to have been in London for a long period before returning to Worcester – where he is thought to have been seen on October 7th – but without making direct contact with relatives.

Officers have this week been checking several addresses in the Brean Sands and Burnham-On-Sea areas which Mr Chamken is known to have visited.

Mr Champken is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build, clean-shaven and with cropped dark brown hair that is greying. He wears a silver SOS talisman on his left wrist and has a surgery scar on his chest.

“If anyone anywhere believes they know the whereabouts of Mr Champken – or who recognises his description – we urge them to call us,” a police spokesman said.

Police investigating his disappearance can be contacted on 0300 333 3000, quoting 242S/011010. Information can also be given, anonymously, to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
