Burnham-On-Sea police reassure residents over paedophile letters

-

Burnham-On-Sea police have this week reassured residents that an anonymous letter which is being dropped through letterboxes, alleging that a paedophile is living in the town, is ‘malicious’.

Sgt Ian Kennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Some residents in the Burnham Road and Marine Drive area have received the letters in the post stating that a paedophile was living at an address in the area.”

“The information on the letters has been checked and the address has been discounted and the information is believed to be malicious.”

He added that PCSOs from Burnham Police Station have carried out house-to-house visits in the area and reassured residents that there is no cause for public alarm.
