Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Sailing Regatta gets underway

-

Dozens of yachts are taking part in Burnham-On-Sea’s annual regatta over the next fortnight, with a series of sailing races being held along the estuary.

The popular event, run by Burnham Sailing Club, started on Friday and runs both this weekend and next.

On Saturday morning (July 3rd) there will be a race at 10.30am, followed by a further race on Sunday (July 4th) at 11am.

Next weekend will see a further two competitions, with the yachts taking to the water on Saturday July 10th at 5pm and Sunday July 11th at 6pm.

“This year’s regatta will also include a tug-of-war, seafarer’s lunch, a hog roast and a sixties music night. It will end on July 11th with a special prize giving,” a Sailing Club spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
