Scouts’ Christmas postal delivery service raises more than £800

-

Scores of scouts have made their final deliveries of Christmas post across the Burnham-On-Sea area as part of their annual fundraising Scout Post service.

The 1st Huntspill and Highbridge Scout Group have delivered thousands of items of post throughout December, raising a total of £821.50.

“For the cost of just 15p per card, the Scout group delivered Christmas cards to the Burnham-On-Sea, Berrow, Highbridge, East and West Huntspill and Pawlett areas,” Pat Weller, Group Treasurer, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“This service has been provided for many years now and is one of our bigger fund raising events, requiring hours of work by our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their parents as well as the Sedgemoor Explorer Scouts and our band of dedicated helpers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the Scout Group by using this service.”
