Burnham Scouts competition puts photography skills in focus

-

Dozens of photographs went on show on Friday evening (October 8th) when more than 30 Burnham-On-Sea Scouts took part in a competition.

The youngsters had been given two months to take a variety of shots covering themes such as portraits, sport, landscapes, wildlife, scouting and humour in order to help them earn their photography badges.

All the entries were displayed at Burnham Scouts HQ next to the town’s BASC Ground, where they were judged by District Scout Manager Marian Scott and Burnham-On-Sea.com’s Mark Newman.

“There was a very good range of entries and the standard was high which made it a tough job deciding on the winners,” said Marian.

The winners were Rory Macgregor (sport), Catie Macgregor (scouting), George Prewett (humour), David Young (wildlife), Joe Hancock (landscape), Matt Perry (portrait and overall winner).
