Shapwick
youngsters pick up sea safety tips during visit to Burnham

Eighteen
youngsters from a local school picked up beach safety advice during
a special visit to Burnham-On-Sea's rescue hovercraft, Coastguard
and lifeboat stations on Saturday morning (May 8th).
The group from Shapwick School were given guided tours of
the town's three marine rescue services and met crewmembers from
each organisation.
The
youngsters also presented BARB with a generous donation of £472
following a sponsored walk to Glastonbury earlier in the year.
Teacher
Dan Burnett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "A dozen of our pupils
who took part in the walk wanted the money to go to a local charity
and were pleased to hand over the proceeds to BARB during Saturday's
visit."
"Everyone
enjoyed the visit and found it very interesting to see the hovercrafts,
coastguard equipment and lifeboats up close."
