Hair
today, bald tomorrow! Barbara's close shave raises £600
A
Burnham-On-Sea woman has raised hundreds of pounds for a cancer
charity by having her head shaved.
Barbara
Nott-Bower lost her locks during the hair-raising event at Burnham's
Black Rock Vet Surgery in Victoria Street on Wednesday (September
1st).
The
event was watched by a crowd of supportive colleagues as barber
Mike Lowe, who currently works at Hair of The Dog on Burnham High
Street, completed the task in less than five minutes.
Barbara,
who was prompted to do the fundraiser after a friend was diagnosed
with breast cancer, told Burnham-On-Sea.com afterwards that she
was "delighted" with her new look.
"It's
a bit cold without hair, but my discomfort is minor compared to
those suffering with cancer," she added. "I am very
happy to have raised over £600 for the Breast Cancer Campaign
and grateful to Mike for doing the cut without charge."
