Burnham-On-Sea jewellery shop owner’s anger over vandalism

-

A jewellery shop in Burnham town centre suffered hundreds of pounds worth of damage when a vandal threw a brick through its window earlier today (Monday 1st March).

Burnham-On-Sea police were called to fashion accessories shop Spangles at 10a The High Street at 12.20am after a nearby resident reported seeing a youth smash the window and then run away.

Store owner Penny Ricketts told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The shop has been left an absolute tip. I’m so cross this has happened.”

“Nothing appears to have been stolen – it was just a pointless attack. One brick was thrown through the window, leaving glass everywhere. It’s not a great way to start the week.”

She added that a local resident heard a loud bang at 12.20am and a person was seen running away shortly afterwards along a side street.

Anyone with information should contact police via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
