Trampled swan
rescued by Burnham rescue boat crew

A
rescue boat crew from Burnham-On-Sea was called out on Saturday
afternoon (August 21st) to help animal rescuers reach an injured
bird on a lake - the second such incident this week.
A resident in Lympsham contacted East Huntspill-based Secret
World at 2pm after reporting an injured swan was in difficulty
after being trampled by cattle.
BARB's rescue boat crew was called to a stretch of water behind
The Crescent in Lympsham where they helped wildlife carers reach
the bird.
Secret World volunteer Martin Kendall told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"We'd tried unsuccessfully to capture the swan from the bank,
so having the rescue boat was invaluable. The bird had suffered
a broken leg and has been taken to a vet for treatment."
