Sweet donations bring a smile to Burnham children this Christmas

-

Staff at Homes in Sedgemoor have raised almost £200 to buy sweets for local children in the Burnham and Highbridge area this Christmas.

The team have collected £180 throughout December by holding various activities including a raffle, charity auction, and a casual clothing day.

Part of the money has been put towards topping up the Tenants’ Welfare Fund and also towards buying the sweets. The Homes in Sedgemoor team wrapped and labled them, then handed them over to Burnham and Highbridge Rotary Club for distribution, as pictured above.

The Rotary Club have been delivering the sweets to children at local Women’s Refuge centres, where families escaping domestic violence will be spending Christmas.

Kim Sugg from Homes In Sedgemoor told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Staff here are enormously charitable and committed to our tenants and people in the local area. The fundraising has been great fun for us and we also hope has helped to spread a little extra festive spirit to families and children in the area!”
