Burnham-On-Sea couple’s tenth annual lights display switched on

-

A Burnham-On-Sea couple switched on their spectacular annual display of 20,000 Christmas lights for a tenth year on Saturday night (December 4th).

Mike Perrin and wife Denice of Wilde Close have decorated their home to raise funds for St Margaret’s Hospice every year for the past decade, raising over £5,000 in the process.

Their impressive display of illuminations, which covers the whole of their garden and the house’s exterior, was switched on in front of a crowd of almost 100 onlookers and neighbours.

Mike told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We both love Christmas – it’s great to raise a few smiles while also collecting for such a special cause.”

Barbara Fletcher, local fundraising co-ordinator for the St Margaret’s Hospice, pictured above with Mike, thanked the couple during Saturday’s switch-on. “Mike gives up a day every week to help move our patients around while Denice works in our charity shop as a volunteer – I am humbled by what they do,” she said.

The couple’s lights are being illuminated every night throughout the festive period up to January 6th and donations to the charity are welcomed.
