Judging of Burnham and Highbridge Xmas lights contest begins

-

Judging of Burnham and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition got underway on Wednesday evening (December 15th).

Town councillors Ken Smout and Phoebe Harling visited over 20 of the best displays in the two towns over the course of several hours.

Ken told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Judging has been difficult because of the high standard – it’s great to such a lot of effort being put in. The displays really bring out the Christmas spirit among residents.”

Phoede added: “The standard has been very good – we’ve been greatly impressed by the wide variety of lights and displays on show.”

The results of the competition, which is run by the Town Council, will be announced during the next few days.

Prizes will be awarded in several categories covering private dwellings (Burnham), private dwellings (Highbridge), best group of private houses (one each for Burnham and Highbridge), best business or shop (one prize for Burnham and Highbridge together).
