A week-long exhibition showcasing the work of more than 20 Burnham-On-Sea artists is underway in the town this week.

Dozens of paintings by Burnham Art Club members are on display at Burnham Community Centre, where the event was opened on Friday evening (August 5th) by the town’s Mayor and Mayoress.

The free exhibition features the work of local artists and is running every day from 10am-5pm until Friday August 12th at the centre in Berrow Road next to Burnham Swim and Sports Academy.

“We have a lovely mixture of over 60 paintings on display this year – from oils and acrylics to water colours,” club chairman Alan Castle told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We encourage residents and visitors to drop in and visit us this week. There’s a wide range of styles and scenes on show from some of Burnham’s best local artists.”

The event is also raising money for Burnham rescue hovercraft charity BARB, whose crew were among the 50 invited guests at Friday’s opening, pictured here.
