More than 20 fundraisers pulled on their walking boots to take part in a charity beach walk between Burnham-On-Sea and Brean on Sunday (October 30th).

Called the ‘Brean 14’, the event raised funds for East Huntspill’s Secret World Wildflife Rescue Centre.

The entrants were able to choose between a 14km run or a 6km walk and there were prizes for those entrants dressed in Halloween fancy dress and activities for children including apple bobbing, pumpkin stencilling and face painting.

Secret World’s Debbie O’Keefe told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The weather stayed good and everyone enjoyed a good beach walk or run while raising funds.”

The participants started on the beach near Warren Farm and continued to the halfway point, just past Burnham’s beach lighthouse, before re-tracing their steps back towards Brean. Entertainment was also laid on at Brean’s Sundowner Cafe.
