Countdown to this year’s Burnham-On-Sea Carnival is underway

-

The countdown to this year’s Burnham-On-Sea Carnival is underway with the programme for the big event now available across the town.

The programme lists the dozens of entries set to take part in this year’s parade, which will be held on Monday November 7th starting at 7.30pm.

Among the entries will be Burnham and Highbridge’s own cart, from Hillview Carnival Club, called ‘One Way Ticket’, which Burnham-On-Sea.com recently featured here.

Copies of the programme cost £1.50 each and are available from shops across Burnham and Highbridge, plus the Tourist Information Centre on Burnham’s Esplanade, where 30p from each copy will be donated to BIARS (Burnham Information and Rescue Support), the community group that runs the centre.

Meanwhile, The Ritz Club in Victoria Street has announced that it will be offering people the chance to watch Burnham’s carnival live on a big screen inside the comfort of the club. A video camera located on the roof will send live pictures of the carnival procession to two big TV screens in the bar. There will be no charge for admission.

The carnival committee is still appealing for volunteer marshals to come forward to help between 6pm and 11pm on the big day. Those who can help should contact Jamie Hawke on 07812 095 706.
