Lions Club presents prizes to Burnham-On-Sea's carnival royalty!

The queen and princesses who will lead this year's Highbridge and Burnham Carnival have this week been presented with prizes for winning the keenly-contested competition to fill their roles.

This year's Carnival Queen Jenny Yip and her two Princesses, Catherine Tolley and Alyssa Jarvis, were presented with their cheques by Burnham Lions Club during a ceremony at the town's Community Centre on Wednesday (September 7th).

Burnham Lions organised this year's competition to find the new carnival queen and princesses, as we reported here earlier in the summer. The queen received £300 while the two princesses each received £100.

Scott Walsh, Burnham and District Lions Club President, told "We are delighted to support young people in taking part in great community events such as the carnival which brings a lot of fun to the town."
