Burnham and Highbridge’s official town Christmas trees arrive

-

The countdown to Christmas in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge got underway on Monday (November 21st) when the town’s official Christmas trees were moved into position for the festive season.

The council-funded Grand Firs were hauled into position outside the Victoria Hotel in Victoria Street and next to the entrance of Highbridge’s Community Centre in Market Street, as pictured here.

Burnham and Highbridge Town Council has set aside a budget of £2,250 for this year’s Christmas celebrations in the two towns.

The funding covers the cost of the trees, installation and electric lighting plus the annual competition to find the towns’ best decorated illuminated homes.

Meanwhile, preparations are continuing for the official switch-on of Burnham’s Christmas lights this Saturday (November 26th). Author Terry Pratchett will have the role of ‘Grand Illuminator’ to perform the ceremony, as featured here.
