Voters go to the polls today for County Council by-election in Burnham area

-

Voters in the Burnham-On-Sea area are going to the polls today (Thursday, December 1st) to vote in a county council by-election.

Electors in the Brent division have two choices – Conservative district councillor John Denbee, who lives in Chapel Allerton, and Liberal Democrat town councillor Helen Groves, from Burnham, (both pictured).

The election for the vacant Brent seat is being held following the death of long-serving councillor Alan Ham, who passed away in September after a short illness.

The Brent ward covers a large area around Burnham including the villages of Brean, Berrow, Lympsham, Brent Knoll, East Brent, Rooksbridge, Biddisham and Watchfield.

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm, with the result scheduled to be announced later this evening.

Burnham-On-Sea.com will report on the results as soon as they are announced.
