Burnham-On-Sea karate enthusiast high-kicks his way to the top!

A young karate enthusiast from Burnham-On-Sea has high-kicked his way to a top award.

Josh Proctor from Burnham and Highbridge Karate Club won second place in a keenly-contested category at a regional Wado competition in Yate, near Bristol, this week.

“Josh fought brilliantly,” a club spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“He listened to his coach and progressed admirably through the various rounds, but met a really talented fighter in the finals. Josh did really well and just got beaten to the points.”

Josh, who is a 4th Kyu purple belt, achieved second place for fighting in a category of 8-9 year olds.

He is a member of Burnham and Highbridge Karate Club, which trains at King Alfred Sports Centre on Sundays and Wednesdays. New members are welcome, and for more information visit the club’s website here.
