Highbridge school teams up with fitness club for sports diploma

-

Students from Year 13 at Highbridge’s King Alfred School have been visiting a fitness club in Bridgwater over the past few weeks as part of their Level 3 Subsidiary Diplomas in Sport.

The students have been using the opportunity to gain a valuable understanding of how a health and fitness clubs looks after its members.

During their visits to the Trimwise Health and Fitness Club in Bridgwater, the students have been shown the induction process, including some health and fitness tests, and how that information is used to write training programmes for members.

Year 13 student Tim Weeks said: “The opportunity improved our knowledge of the fitness industry and has shown us how our studies relate to this vocation.”

Course Leader Pete Harris thanked Pete Matthews and his team who gave up their time and resources to welcome the students and provide them with such a experience.
