Vandals leave trail of damage in Burnham-On-Sea’s Manor Gardens

-

Vandals pushed over lamp posts, smashed several windows and set fire to a rubbish bin during a night of vandalism at Burnham’s Manor Gardens on Friday night (December 23rd).

Police and fire crews were called to the gardens at 10.30pm following the damage, which is understood to have been caused by a group of young people.

“Two lamp posts were pushed over, a bin was set alight and three windows in the Manor House were broken,” one anonymous local resident told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Western Power Distribution was called to the gardens to make the lamp posts safe early this morning (Saturday) as pictured below.

Burnham-On-Sea.com first highlighted security fears about the derelict, boarded-up Manor House last July. Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact Police by dialling 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
