Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mayor re-elected for second year

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s Mayor and Mayoress were unanimously re-elected to their roles for a second year by members of the Town Council on Monday night (May 16th).

Councillors also selected Ken Smout as Deputy Mayor and Alan Miller as Second Deputy Mayor, as pictured right.

Cllr Neville Jones proposed Cllr Clarke be re-elected, telling the meeting: “Michael and Maria Clarke have taken to the roles of Mayor and Mayoress like real naturals and I have no reservation in nominating them.”

Michael told Burnham-On-Sea.com it was “a great honour” to be selected for a second term.

“We are looking forward to another busy year, having attended over 230 functions over the past 12 months,” he added.
