Burnham-On-Sea Mayor hands over donations to local good causes

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s Mayor handed out cheques to his two chosen charities of the year on Monday night (May 16th).

The Friends of Burnham Hospital and BARB (Burnham Area Rescue Boat) each received a share of the proceeds from the Mayor’s recent fundraising Royal Wedding street party, as covered here.

Cllr Michael Clarke presented £810.54 each to Tony Deahl, Chairman of The Friends of Burnham Hospital, and Steve Perks, BARB’s Operations Manager.

A further £100 was also presented to Burnham Army Cadets in recognition of the work of the Mayor’s Official Cadet, Ben Rogers, over the past year.

Michael and his wife, Maria, thanked all those who had supported the fundraising street party during April – especially the Victoria Hotel’s Martin and Dee Lloyd.
